Speech and Language evaluation: | Language is broken down into two areas, receptive and expressive language. Students with LD often have difficulty with both expressive and receptive language. There is a strong relationship between language and learning disabilities.

NOTE *** (Parents, once you request comprehensive assessments, include any other areas of concern for comprehensive assessments-ex: if you suspect language processing is a problem, ask for a comprehensive speech and language assessment. If coordination and poor handwriting is a concern, ask for OT evaluation, auditory processing, ask for a CAP assessment, organization-sequencing, working memory as in solving problems etc -ask for an executive functioning assessment. If you suspect a need and don't know what to call it, state the problem documenting your concern and asking that the deficit be identified) |
